Hundreds and thousands of candidates await the advertisement for IBPS exam every year. Since the introduction of the common exam of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) from the year 2011, the candidates get a chance to sit for a single Common Written Exam for the clerical, Probationary Officers and Management Trainee posts. This written exam is conducted twice in a year for the clerical and PO jobs and once for the specialist officers or Management Trainees.
The first exam is conducted around April-May and second one is around September-October in a year. There are 19 participating public sector banks who recruit candidates with the IBPS score. Interested candidates will have to appear in the written exam and the score will be presented before the participating banks as and when they take out the advertisement for recruiting the candidates for the said posts.
Candidates shall apply to the advertised posts with their marks and depending on the cut offs that are specified for each bank, as per their rules. After combining the CWE scores, interview performance, age and the mark in the educational qualifications, the banks will release their final list of recruits.
The IBPS score will be valid for a period of one year, within which the candidates can apply for the recruitment into the participating banks. The written paper consists of 250 questions to be answered in 150 minutes. Questions are from the topics of verbal and numeric reasoning, general English, banking sector, general awareness, and quantitative aptitude.
The scores are also distributed in a particular way and the candidates will have to get a total weighted score overall and clear cut offs in each individual topic. To apply for the IBPS exam, the candidates are required to submit the application form online and pay the exam fee either through the online process or provide the same in the mentioned banks. But before that, they should check out the eligibility criteria related to the age and educational qualifications.
With the scores available, it is time to wait for the job advertisements of different banks and send the applications to the respective banks with the TWS score, so that they can be called for the interview if they fulfil the criteria of the said bank.
